Love Yourself Majestically

Malchut of Chesed

Hi everyone, Jordan Drayer, the majestic millennial voice actress. Today is the seventh day of the Omer. If you want to know more about the Omer and how it works, check out the links in the YouTube description.

Malchut of Chesed, the majesty of loving-kindness. For Malchut, I've seen majesty, positive communication, nobility, and personal dignity/sovereignty. The very top of the tree has three sefirot which apparently only belong to God, with Keter (crown) at the very top. But some have said that Malchut and Keter are one and the same. Even we walk on a kind of foundation of majesty, with more majesty above that we must strive for.

Chabad.org says it best, "Mature love comes with - and brings - personal dignity. An intimate feeling of nobility and regality. Knowing your special place and contribution in this world. Any love that is debilitating and breaks the human spirit is no love at all. For love to be complete, it must have the dimension of personal sovereignty."

We can't give our all to another person, not 100%. Yes, you can take a bullet for them and a grenade and every other song, but don't lose yourself in the relationship. Do things for yourself every so often. Stick to your boundaries, and even in compromise, know that your opinion or want matters.

I always try to share personal stories but can't really think of any for this one, because it seems more like the love between lovers or parents and children. I've never had a boyfriend and I'm not a parent, so I can't relate. I can say I learned to stand up for myself in school when people were always borrowing pencils and stuff from me. I learned to say no and stop being the pushover.

What is something that you do for others that you could celebrate and say, "I'm awesome"? Like for me, I'm awesome at listening, calling, and planning get-togethers! Maybe you're awesome at helping friends with fashion choices, awesome at suggesting books or shows, or awesome at cooking for your friends! Celebrate and love yourself today, and I'll see you tomorrow for a brand week of the Omer.
